Reed Switch

This smart reed switch provides additional security for your home smart security system. The reed switch alerts the system when it is tripped. Placing the reed switch on doors or windows alerts the home smart security system when there is intrusion. This can trigger  the system to sound alarms and contact you via your smart phone.

The reed switch brings professional level security to the home DIY security market. Long considered part of the arsenal of professional kits, reed switches measure intrusion by alerting the base unit when doors or windows are opened. Until recently IP based home security were based on video motion detection. Home Smart Security kits use proper motion detectors and reed switches to better improve your security.

How It Works

The reed switch is synced with the base unit via the smart phone app. One part of the reed switch is placed on one side of the door or window and the other side on the other part of the door or window. Works with all types of doors and windows including sliding. Once added the reed switch alerts the base unit when that door or window is opened.

Please note: this reed switch only works in conjunction with the Home Smart Kit. You must own or be purchasing the Home Smart Kit in order to use the reed switch.
